Quotes:

Marcus: As a kid I was drawn to music that was experimental & not mainstream. Also, I was inspired by sounds but had no idea why & was drawn to them!

Marcus: These interconnected webs form when we play for live audiences, it’s incredible! It adds some anxiety but when you hit those magic moments it’s just beautiful, like a fueled burst of fire, all parts burning together.

Marcus: One of the first real amazing experience I had was in 2002 when I was 18, at Bonaroo. I was in music school at Berkely was very open, in a receptive state. I was runnin’ wild with friends & took some LSD & it was fantastic. We saw Trey Anastasio’s set, the full band for the closing set & it was just amazing, one of the greatest experiences I’ve ever had!

Daniel: Empathy’s so important these days. When we consider loss, how for everything we’ve gained, for every sacrifice made there’s going to be some sort of loss. With Covid right now, people are feeling so much loss with the future being so uncertain.

Marcus: Being able to relate to people, even if you don’t have their problems, it’s so important to understand what people are going thru. Empathy—we all need to have empathy; it’ll change the world. Not the hate, anger, or intimidation—it’s empathy that’ll heal the world.

Marcus: I’ve alwyas had WAY more fun with group projects than when working solo. Music’s this incredibly interwoven intergalactic vehicle that we get to take rides on.

Marcus: Be willing to go beyond your comfort zone & take chances, go beyond your daily monotony & be inspired by things so deeply that it builds this fire inside that keeps burning & burning.
